Sandra Annette Bullock was born on July 26, 1964 in Arlington, Virginia and is an American actress with German roots. Her mother was the German opera singer Helga Meyer. Until Sandra’s 12th year, the family consisting of mother Helga, father John, Sandra and little sister Gesine lived mostly in Nuremberg, where her mother performed at Staatstheater, which is why Sandra Bullock still speaks German fluently, what she does in one their recent films “Oceans 8” has proved very amusing.

Back in the US, she was a cheerleading captain at her high school and participated in many theatrical performances. In 1986 she dropped out of her acting studies to gain real acting experience in New York, which turned out to be quite difficult and so she worked quite properly for a prospective actress as a waitress, but also as a cleaner, disco dancer and dog hairstylist. It all started with a difficult start, but she did not give up and soon she was seen in smaller film and television roles and TV series, until in 1993 she played the role of policewoman Lt. Lenina Huxley in the ironic science-fiction action film directed by Marco Brambilla alongside Sylvester Stallone…

In 1993, everyone wanted to see the new “Stallone” to once again enjoy some loud shoot-out action with their favorite action hero. The film had the promising title of “Demolition Man” and in Wesley Snipes Sylvester Stallone had found a worthy opponent. The two were already in the first minutes of a great battle good against evil. But then everything changed completely. The ruffians were arrested and put on hold for several decades. Appearance Sandra Bullock, who bores in her self-driving police car in the newly created, much too peaceful world. In this setting, many of her fans saw her for the first time as she made a friendly phone call to the prison warden and hopefully hopped into the police headquarters in search of some action.
The action should get her. Just like in her next movie “Speed” with Keanu Reeves and Dennis Hopper. She made her breakthrough with this, her second big movie alongside already well-known actors, while with her sweet, white, ruffled childrens socks she was allowed to drive a heavy bus that could not drive slower than 50 miles an hour, otherwise it would explode, crashed through the dense city traffic.
In the next film she exchanged the action against romance and delighted her ever-growing audience as a lovely but shy ticket saleswoman who saves their alleged, great love on a platform. For this box-office success, Sandra Bullock got her first Golden Globe nomination.

In the following years she established herself as one of the most popular and highest paid actresses in Hollywood and also the prizes and honors did not stay out.
For “Speed” alone she received five awards. Among other things, the MTV Movie Award for best actress and most desirable woman. She was also awarded for “While You’re Sleeping” and “The Net”, as well as for “The Jury” and “A Second Chance”. For the drama “28 Days” she even received the Bambi in 2000. The Oscar was finally, together with the Golden Globe, the Critic’s Choice Award and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress for the biggest artistic success of her career, for the drama “Blind Side – The Great Chance” 2009.
The Oscar ceremony took place on 07.March 2010. Just one day before she had personally picked up another award: the golden raspberry as the worst actress for “All About Steve”. That had only dare Hale Berry before, who had been awarded the “prize” for her portrayal as Catwoman in 2005. This made Bullock the first woman to receive an award for Best and Worst Actress in the same year … although it’s fair to ask what kind of experts Sandra Bullock wants to portray a bad performance …

After her great success with “The Blind Side” followed other featured films such as “The Heat” with Melissa McCarthy, the 3D space thriller “Gravity” with George Clooney, the drama “Our Brand Is Crisis”, the Heist film comedy “Ocean´ s 8 “and the horror thriller” Bird Box “.
After this colorful selection of topics and genres, one may be very curious, with which film she lures us next in the cinemas and in front of the screens.

Sandra Bullock lives in New Orleans. In 2002, she was romantically involved with fellow actor Ryan Gosling, whom she met while filming “Murder by Numbers”. The relationship lasted only seven months.
On July 16, 2005, she married the host of the Monster Garage TV show Jesse G. James and became the stepmother of his three children. In January 2010, the couple adopted a son, and only a short time later, in March of the same year, several of the husband’s extra-marital activities flew open and Sandra filed for divorce, which became final in June 2010.
Since 2015, she has had a relationship with model and photographer Bryan Randall and adopted a daughter from a foster family.
Sandra Bullock is also known as a generous supporter of social projects. After the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, she donated to the Red Cross, after the 2004 Indian Ocean quake and the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, $ 1 million, this time to “Doctors Without Borders”. The earthquake victims of the Tōhoku earthquake in 2011 also received one million dollars.
