Portraits of visual arts artists
A portrait is actually understood to be a painting, a sculpture or a photograph that depicts a specific person. But you don't necessarily need a brush or plaster or clay or an expensive camera to represent or present a person. This can also be done with words and in a much more detailed, informative and interesting way than a image can. That is why we have chosen the term “portrait” here to tell a little more in detail about our very special favorite artists.
Franz Marc was a German painter, draftsman and graphic artist and is still regarded today as one of the most important painters of Expressionism in Germany. He co-founded the editorial community "Der Blaue Reiter" (eng.: The Blue Rider) and wrote art theoretical writings for it.
